PAGCOR, LEDIPO Taytay Rush Aid to Fire Survivors in Rizal, Flood Victims in Sorsogon

Taytay, Rizal – The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), in partnership with the Local Economic Development Promotion Office (LEDIPO) of Taytay, Rizal, led by Cristina “Chin” Gonzales, has launched urgent relief operations for families affected by recent disasters in Rizal and Sorsogon.

On April 8, a massive fire engulfed four barangays in Taytay, claiming seven lives in Barangay San Juan and displacing more than 60 families. Over 300 families remain in evacuation centers, struggling to cope with the loss.

In response, PAGCOR and LEDIPO distributed food packs and essential supplies to affected residents on May 5.

“We are committed to standing by our community during this difficult time,” said LEDIPO chief Gonzales. “Our goal is to support recovery and help families rebuild their lives.”

Relief efforts also reached Sorsogon’s second district, where heavy rains caused flooding and displaced dozens of families. A total of 500 food packs were delivered to storm-affected communities, underscoring the joint commitment to crisis response beyond local borders.

The quick response has been widely appreciated by residents and local leaders, who hailed the support as timely and essential.

Further aid efforts are underway as authorities continue to assess the needs of affected communities
