An Israeli army strike on a tent camp in a humanitarian zone in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis killed at least 19 people and wounded 60 others, the health ministry in the Hamas-run Palestinian enclave said Tuesday after the civil defence agency provided an earlier death toll of 40. The Israeli army said it targeted a Hamas command centre in the Al-Mawasi area, which the military had designated a safe zone.
