Biden’s remarks came as ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas stall while cross-border fire intensifies in Lebanon. UN Secretary-General Guterres earlier on Tuesday warned that the state of the world is becoming “unsustainable” amid deepening geopolitical divisions, climate change and growing inequality.
